refined, bleached, deodorized palm oil (Diablo iii Gold). That I think is the proper technical name though. Palm KERNEL oil can be two different oils. That is confusing that palm kernel oil can mean one of two different oils. I think palm oil in packaged foods is processed but how processed is anyone's (consumer's) guess. There can be even more processing done to it I think after a food company buys it.
Natural palm oil is also high in vitamin E, including tocotrienols (which is an expensive form when sold as a supplement). All oils have vitamin E; lack of vitamin E means the oil is rancid (oxidized - E = antioxidant, which means long shelf life). I think that article explains how some of those nutrients in NRP oil are added to some processed foods to increase shelf life.
