I can totally sympathize with you on the needle thing (D3 Gold). i've been trying to overcome passing out pretty much my whole life, with very limited success. i'm okay to a point and i won't look, but i feel like i can't get air and gets the sweats fast. i'm accustomed to the feeling but it's such a weak helpless one.
as it happens, i have lousy veins and at my first ob appointment they ended up taking 8 vials of blood. after the third poke, they had one vial and blew two veins...lol. when the lab person saw i was about to pass out in the chair, she called for help from the other lab people but i guess i didn't respond to them soon enough, because then she called urgent care and they hauled me off to a bed. by the time all 8 vials were done, i'd spent about two hours there- they wouldn't try for more for awhile because my blood pressure took awhile to come up (which is low anyhow) and i drank a can of orange juice and just had to lie there. the ice packs felt good though. in good news, everybody was really swell and it only took 6 stabs to get it done. next time though, they are starting me out on a bed. i feel like sort of a fool for that, but it's gotta be better, right?
How do you handle the unexpected birth? We do not have family that we can trust that live near us. We have several people to call and we hope on the day of we can use someone. Anyone have this situation? Just scary it can not be planned. Hoping my husband can be with me (D3 Gold), but we figure worse case he will have to stay home with our toddler.
